Why don't we just put up a stadium on the waterfront?

Maybe the Buffalo Common Council had it right in investigating putting up a retractable-domed stadium (like Lucas Oil stadium in Indianapolis above) on the waterfront to house the Buffalo Bills and more! I remember back in the 70's when the proposal to put up a domed stadium in Lancaster was all the rage...it would have been the 2nd domed stadium in the USA (after the Houston Astrodome) and I remember well the late-great sportscaster Stan Barron telling me we could have been awarded a National League Baseball team and MLB would have never expanded to Montreal (Expos). It could have been paid for by just charging a nominal fee to curiosity seekers wanting a "tour" of the facility in just 3 years...but we all know by now how everything turned out (and we ended up paying for the Lancaster Stadium after all the lawsuits ANYWAY). If we are going to pay million$ to update The Ralph, we should think about paying a few more million$ to put up a new stadium downtown...that should solve the problem of getting people to come downtown to the waterfront! |

Alicia Keys selling her New York apartment for just $17.9 million! She bought it from Lenny Kravitz in 2010 for $14.5 million, and it has 5 bedrooms, 4 baths, 4 "powder rooms," and a state-of-the-art windowed gourmet eat-in kitchen and a spa. Check it out http://thehiphopupdate.com/etc/check-out-swizz-beatz-and-alicia-keys-nyc-apartment-listed-at-17-9-million-dollars/ |

If you're moving to Southern California you have to check out this beautiful home in Beverly Hills that's listed for just $13.5 million! It has 6 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms and features a large crystal chandelier in lipstick red! Oh, it's currently owned by The Voice judge Christina Aguilera who purchased the home from Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne in 2008 for $11.5 million. You can read more at http://513doheny.com/. |

Jennifer Hudson (above) certainly performed a touching tribute to Whitney Houston at The Grammys, and at the very last minute too! Whitney and her incomparable voice will truly be missed, and my favorite Whitney song "For The Love Of You" the old Isley Brothers song from her "Whitney" album. |

Being a Time Warner Subscriber myself I just have a bad feeling about the dispute that's keeping the SABRES/MSG Off the Cable Channel. I certainly hope it won't be like the NFL Network and Time Warner! |

The Bills season came to an end on Sunday, and did Stevie Johnson's tenure with the Team end too (after his TD celebration antics that cost the Bills a penalty and got him a seat on the bench for the rest of the game)? |

Did you really think The Bills would beat The Denver Broncos Saturday, and the most talked about player in all of sports Tim Tebow (above)? Even though we couldn't watch the game, CBS sent their #1 broadcast crew Jim Nantz and Phil Simms to The Ralph to cover the game for a national audience, to see The Bills "crush" the highly touted Tim Tebow/Broncos 40-14 was a wonderful Christmas present for all Bills fans! |

The only bright spot in the Bills loss to the San Diego Chargers Sunday was Bryan Scott's fumble recovery for the lone Bills TD (above). Tell me the truth, did you turn off the game before it was over...you weren't alone! |

It would take the BILLS winning their remaining games and other AFC Teams losing for the team to make this year's playoffs...(like a Christmas MIracle). In the Bills loss to the Titans Sunday, Stevie Johnson's touchdown celebration was much different than just a week before against The Jets (picture above)! |
