The weather hasn't really been conducive to hibernating, although I did a pretty good job this weekend....Tons of pillows and blankets on my couch, Hot tea before 5. Red wine after 5. Fat free potato chips and lots of naps. Who says Winter isn't fun in Buffalo, NY. And now back to reality, a 5 day work week (huh) and cleaning off my car. Oh and I actually had to put make up on...Rough....I'm still ready for a weekend snow storm that gives me every reason to not leave my house...Just schedule it for a weekend please! |

Bad hair today with this rain....temps gonna drop and its gonna get icy tonight...still not expecting much in the way of snow for the city...never ever thought I would be making a list of why it should snow big time...but here goes
1. I actually don't mind shoveling snow...its a crazy calorie burner and a chance to clear your head outside.
2. It looks pretty
3. I have 4 wheel drive
4. I can hibernate
5. I can cook comfort foods like chili and bake pies
6. sweaters!
7. because I live in Buffalo
hows that? don't be mad....:) |

So Christmas is over, New Years Eve has passed...Now what? Is the next event I look forward to a snowstorm? Snowstorms aren't the same for people in broadcasting as for everyone else. We HAVE to get to work to get you the information you need, news, traffic and of course WEATHER. Now curling up in our jammies with hot chocolate and an old movie. But, frankly, I'm good with that. Four wheel drive and fleece conquers all.....I am getting tons of gardening magazines. Which of course means I will seit thinking about the gardening I cannot do and order a thousand dollars worth of seeds and plants simply because they look pretty in the pictures....This year NO tomatillos....maybe edamame.... |

So I have two gifts to buy on my list....It was a relatively easy year for me to find gifts...Hubby is set, son-easy...coworkers-done...all sorted, wrapped and ready! But now I feel empty-I'm not frantic, I'm not worried-and now I don't feel like its Christmas because I'm not frantic....I think I like frantic...I think I like the deadline looming. I think I like the worry.
So as the holidays approach, I want to thank everyone who has been so awesome in my life and wish you all Merry Christmas! |

Happy 13 year wedding anniversary to me and my hubby Mike! We will have an amazing dinner at Hutch's tonight, but we really did most of the celebrating in Napa Valley, which is becoming more and more a food destination! Heres my favorites in Napa. Yes the French Laundry-expensive but so good! Botega I could eat at 7 days a week...Rotisserie and wine...holla, plus Bouchon and I have died and gone to heaven...Oh yeah and I met some cool rockstars too! Christina Perri, Chad Kroeger, OAR and a new artist called Javier Colon.....Now back home...planning my Thanksgiving menu.....No place like home |

Yup! Closing up the yard this weekend-no matter what! Week before last when it was gorgeous, I couldn't bring myself to do it...My stuff still looked great and I just didn't have the heart to pull the stuff out. I have to do it this weekend, no matter what! The ponds have to be closed, but I can wait a little bit on that. Its so hard for me, because I know we have a long winter in front of us...So lets concentrate on the good part of this...1. I won't have to mow. 2. I won't have to weed. 3. I won't have to water. 4. No sweating (unless working out.) 5. Cute sweaters come out! 6. Boots! High heeled black boots! Yes! 7. Skiing. 8. Comfort food on Sunday afternoons. 9. Christmas. 10. Naps when its cold. |

It's not like I didn't know it was gonna get cold....But, somehow I was surprised whe I walked out of my house. Oh well, change in weather means lots of changes at the house....Closing the gardens (huge job) closing the ponds....even bigger job...switching out my wardrobe and winterizing so that my heating bills aren't through the roof again....and hibernating...I really do..I work out at home, I cook dinner so we don't go out...hibernate....Heres to a beautiful Indian Summer... |
