It was 45 years ago yesterday that Neil Armstrong became the first man ever to step foot on the surface of the Moon.
Or, if you’re a conspiracy theorist, the first to fake stepping on the Moon.
Let’s go with the former, shall we?
It was a magical time in the summer of ’69, with just about everyone with a television set watching the live broadcast from space as Armstrong leapt from the ladder of the lunar module and planted a flag on the Moon’s surface, uttering the words that have been memorized by so many: “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”
These days, Armstrong would have taken a selfie video and posted it to Instagram.
